Pathology, in which the third eyelid slips out of its place is called – beagle cherry eye. Its name is due to a specific kind of eyeball, which really becomes like a ripe cherry. The treatment is a surgical operation, as once dropped out the eyelid will fall out again.
The main sign of beagle health problems eyes is inflammation of the conjunctival membrane and adjacent tissues. Most often it has an infectious etiology. The causes of this disease are viruses, chlamydia, allergic reactions, inflammation, various mycoses. The symptoms are pinkish or even red all visible mucous membranes; tears and the discharge, the characteristics of the latter can vary from usual watery outflows to pus. Usually, various antibacterial agents, including drops and ointments are prescribed. Here, everything depends on the results of the tests.
Beagle eye care includes daily examination for purulent discharge or inflammation. It is very important to notice vision problems on time to prevent the development of a serious disease. The cause of inflammation often becomes the dirt that has fallen under the eyelids. In this case, the eyes are washed with a decoction of medicinal herbs that possess bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties. These plants include chamomile and calendula. In order to make the infusion, take 1 tablespoon of dry ground raw material and 1 glass of hot water, insist 15-30 minutes, cooled and filtered. Then, with a cotton swab, soaked in infusion, gently wash the dog’s problem zone. Even healthy dogs have problems, small purulent discharge often occurs in the corners of their eyes, due to wind, dust or smoke. Discharges should be regularly removed with a small piece of dry clean cloth or a soft paper towel.
